Sunday evening Block Party.....

Earlier in the day, Eric and I recruited a tournament in Iowa City:

Emmie:  Oh brother, are we going to watch tennis AGAIN?  I hate watching tennis.  It's so boring.

Mom:  You don't have to like watching tennis, but Eric and I still need to do it since that is how we make a living.

Emmie:  Yeah, when are you going to retire?

We went to Last Hope Animal Rescue to look at another dog, Jock.  He didn't warm to us (or Wrigley & Turner), and nipped at Emmie.  Luckily, the volunteer thought highly enough of us to bring out a puppy (rare for them to have pups on hand) that was set to be posted to the website that same night.  It was love at first sight.  The pup had come to them very malnourished, and with no hair.  Quite healthy now; slightly bow legged in the front due to the malnutrition, but may/should grow out of that as cartilage strengthens.

Pierce Open House

Emmie lost her second front tooth about an hour before the Open House.  It had been hanging on by a thread.  Upon getting her out of the shower, I was trying to dry her hair.  She wasn't very agreeable to the process, crouched down and hit her mouth on her knee, "Ow, Mom (we both heard her tooth hit the floor).....hey, you knocked my tooth out (said with a big grin)"
