Frog Eggs at Campsite 33 - Elk Prairie Campground

Elk Meadow Surprise

Brooke and I exchanged emails over the weekend and realized that we were both on the West Coast, and touring the Redwoods on Monday.  Via text message, we set up a surprise for the girls.  Emmie, Eric and I sat at Elk Meadow (just off 101) in wait.  Their family pulled off in hopes of viewing Elk (they were there too!) only to stumble upon the 3 of us.  Shaylee and Emmie were, for the only time ever, speechless....and quite confused.

Along 101 (South of Orick)

Redwoods!

Appropriately named, Big Tree.

Tree Tunnel

In the town of Klamath, alongside the road, was a very large Paul Bunyan with his ox, Blue, next to him.
Mom:  Do you know the name of Paul Bunyan's ox?
E:  What's an ox?  That thing he carries to chop wood is called an ax.

Klamath Falls Overlook (in Redwoods National Park)

Blackberries and Raspberries galore!
Hiked 1/2 mile down to the Overlook in order to see through the heavy fog.  Sea Lion barks could be heard throughout.
