Grandma and Grandpa took the grandkids (+ Chavah) to Hansen's Dairy for the afternoon. Emmie loved the experience, especially the kangaroos and homemade ice cream. We now have to buy Hansen's Ice Cream at the Co-Op once weekly at $10/carton - the gift that keeps on giving!

Bear Paw
Emmie: They shouldn't call this a bear claw. They should call this a bear paw.
Mom: Why?
Emmie: The claws are just this part of the donut. The whole donut is a hand or paw.

Extended Family
Emmie learned that Nick had Pokemon cards, and would be generous in trading. She kept insisting that we set up a "dog play date".

REUNITED AT LAST!
Olson's met Lu on Thursday evening and were so impressed with her temperament (after our dogs had spent the day wearing her out) that they quickly swooped up Lu's sister, Charlie.
Charlie was brought home Friday evening and spent 3 hours running rampant in their house. :)
Saving grace.....she slept through the night!
Given travel ahead, I walked our dogs EARLY Saturday morning. As soon as we turned onto Olson's cul de sac, Lu transitioned from daydreaming and distracted puppy to a tracking dog. I swear she smelled Charlie, who had just been walked along the same path. We reunited them for a playdate and then Olson's took Lu for the day so that we could travel to/from Chicago for Grammy's 100th!
Emmie commented, "Hey, we both have girl dogs with boy names."
(I stopped myself from pointing out that Lu was a girl name)
Shannon replied, "Kind of like Shannon and Kris."
Upon return home, I asked Olson's what they did to our puppy because we just couldn't get her to sit still in the same place for more than 10 minutes (see photo roll below).
