Cool Runnings Report
The movie, Cool Runnings, takes place in Jamaica. In Jamaica, there is no snow so it was hard to start a bobsled team. A group of athletes did it anyway. It was hard to get a coach who knew a lot about bobsledding because there was only one man who really knew what he was talking about and didn’t want to coach anymore. Eventually, the team persuaded him to coach them and they called him Coach Blitzer. Coach Blitzer was originally in the Olympics but after two gold medals started cheating because back then he felt he needed to win. All the other teams at the Olympic tryouts were not confident that a team from a hot country with no snow would ever even pass to compete in the Olympics. The moral of the story Cool Runnings is that even if people laugh in your face or push you down you can do anything if you really try and give it your all!
The Diary of Anne Frank
The movie, The Diary of Anne Frank, takes place in Amsterdam, Netherlands during the time period 1942-1944. The Germans, under Hitler’s rule, were hunting down all the Jews. The story begins when Anne’s father tells the family that they need to go into hiding. A very nice couple let them move into an attic above the husbands work. They must be quiet from 8:30-12:30 and 1:30-5:30. After a little time staying up in the attic, a family of three joined them. At first it was hard for Anne to have to deal with another family and their cat. After a while, they started driving each other crazy. The families lasted 2 years up in the attic before they were discovered in 1944. The only one who survived through the diseases and the camps was Otto Frank, yet he passed away in 1980. This concludes what I have learned from the movie “The Diary of Anne Frank”.
Catch Me If You Can
This true story is based on a con man named Frank Abagnale JR but his code name was Frank Taylor. Frank began his life as a con man in 1963 and he lasted until 1969 in the con business. He is said to be the youngest and best con man his at his age. He was a very elusive check fraud criminal and was known as a lawyer, a doctor, a pilot and etc. Frank was captured and sentenced to 12 years in prison and at almost his 5th year in prison the FBI released him under the conditions that he work with the FBI on check fraud for the rest of his sentence with no pay. Frank felt unloved in many ways his father died a little after his capture and he didn’t feel loved by his mother and didn’t want to go home. Frank is still alive now and in 2018 he even had his own podcast. These were some of the things I’ve learned from the story about Frank Abagnale JR/ “Catch Me If You Can.”
